Rover Sunset FAQs
Why is Rover being discontinued?
Product transitions are a natural part of any business. We have decided to
simplify our product line-up to improve the mix of offers available to serve this
market.
When will Rover be discontinued?
Starting on July 1st, 2011, Rover service no longer will be offered to existing or
new customers. From and after that date, you automatically will be directed to
CLEAR, where you can sign up for CLEAR super fast take-it-with-you internet,
offered on the same network you've come to know and love.
What if my Rover Session starts prior to July 1st, 2011 but continues past
July 1st, 2011?
Not a problem. Your Rover Device will continue to provide you with
uninterrupted 4G internet service until your Rover Session expires. Once your
Rover Session has expired, you then will be directed to CLEAR, where you will
be presented with options to sign up for CLEAR internet service using your
existing Rover Device.
Will I be able to use my Rover Device after June 30th, 2011?
Yes; your Rover Device (Rover Puck, Rover Stick or Rover Hub) will be usable,
with a software download, after June 30th, 2011 with great service plans provided
by CLEAR.
Will I get the same coverage and 4G speeds from CLEAR that I did with
Rover?
Yes; CLEAR built and owns the 4G network that you've been experiencing as a
Rover customer, so coverage areas and network speeds will not change as a
result of the discontinuation of Rover service.
Will CLEAR offer unlimited, mobile internet without long-term
commitments?
Yes; CLEAR offers a variety of service plans from which to choose. The CLEAR
plans most comparable to the Rover plans are the 4G Home and 4G Mobile
plans, offered on a month-to-month basis for $45/month*. As a current Rover
customer, you can sign up for a CLEAR month-to-month plan and use your
existing Rover device.
How do I sign up for a plan with CLEAR?
Anytime on or after July 1st, 2011, you can connect to your Rover Device and
launch any internet browser, at which point you automatically will be directed to
the designated page to sign up for a compatible new rate plan with CLEAR.
CLEAR will waive any activation fees and provide a seamless transition with
minimal interruption to your 4G internet service.
Does CLEAR offer plans by the day, week and month?
CLEAR offers plans by the day, and by the month. CLEAR does not offer any
weekly plans at this time.
The plans from Rover and CLEAR sound remarkably similar, so what's
different?
THINGS THAT ARE THE SAME:
• Rover and CLEAR use the same CLEAR 4G network
• Plans offered by the day or by the month
• Month-to-month plans available without a long-term commitment
• No credit check for transitioning Rover customers
THINGS THAT ARE DIFFERENT:
• New customer profile
• Credit/Bank card required for monthly payment
• Monthly billing at the beginning of the month
